The math behind the calculator
Every number is calculated from what you enter. No hidden assumptions.
- Referral fee =
price x referral % - Total costs per unit =
product cost + WFS fee + referral fee + ad spend per unit + other costs - Profit per unit =
price - total costs - Profit margin =
profit / price - ROI =
profit / product cost - Break-even price =
(product cost + WFS fee + ad spend + other costs) / (1 - referral %), the price where profit is exactly $0. - Max ad spend per unit =
profit + current ad spend per unit, the most you can spend on ads per sale before you lose money.

Walmart WFS calculator: common questions
How do I calculate Walmart WFS profit?
Take your selling price and subtract the product cost, the referral fee (price times your category's referral rate), the WFS fulfillment fee, ad spend per unit and other per-unit costs like inbound freight or storage. The result is profit per unit. Enter your own fees above and the calculator does the rest.
Where do I find my WFS fee and referral fee?
In Walmart Seller Center. The WFS fulfillment fee depends on your item's weight and dimensions, and the referral rate depends on category. Both can change, so use the current numbers for your exact item instead of a generic table.
Should I use WFS or ship orders myself?
Compare the WFS fee per unit with what your own pick, pack, packaging and postage really cost per order. Put either number in the fulfillment fee field to compare. WFS items can also qualify for faster delivery tags, which can help conversion, so a slightly higher fee can still be the better deal.
What is a good profit margin on Walmart?
There is no single right number. What matters is margin after ad spend, returns and storage, because a product that only profits with zero advertising rarely holds up once you need ads to sell. Use the break-even price and max ad spend results above to see how much room you have.
Can I use this for Walmart ads planning?
Yes. Max ad spend per unit is the most you can spend on ads per sale before you lose money. Turn it into a target ROAS with our ROAS calculator and use that target in your campaigns.
